Exhibited Work

Its always an honor to be part of an art exhibit. Here are some of the wonderful shows in which my fiber art has been exhibited.

Harvesting Water Lilies

The Sage Stitcher 2025 Elise Schadauer (Elise Farber) Thread Painting Harvesting Water Lilies

Thread Painting/Embroidery – 8″ x 8″ – Inspired by the iconic imagery of internationally known photographer Khanh Phan, this piece recreates the annual water lily harvest in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta to honor the quiet, generational labor of women who gather bông súng by hand in rhythm with water and season. From a distance this thread painting appears as a single flower; up close the patient stitchwork creates layers to bring the scene into presence mirroring the women’s repetitive motions and reflects spiritual growth as a process rooted in depth where meaning, like the water lily, rises gently through stillness, to quietly demonstrate awakening.

Part of the Collective Art Exhibit “Those Who Create: Layers of Power, Presence and Possibility,” Hosted by the City of Annapolis, Maryland and Curated by Felicia L. Reed. March 7 – April 28, 2026.

Joyful Moonlight Dancing

Joyful Moonlight Dancing - Needle Lace - 2025 - The Sage Stitcher - Elise Schadauer

Needle Lace – 24″ x 20.25″ – Associated with spiritual awakening, emotional release, and a sense of unity with the universe, moonlight dancing promotes feelings of joy, well-being, and emotional expression. These joyful dancing women transcend the mundane and enter a state of connection.

Part of the Togetherness Exhibit, Curated by Felicia L. Reed with Special Guest Artists at Station 3510 in Brentwood, MD. December 13, 2025 – January 2, 2026. The exhibit’s theme: An exploration of unity, healing, and shared creativity through art. This exhibit celebrates the power of connection — how individual stories, textures, and mediums come together to create one collective tapestry of strength and community.

Part of Felicia and Friends: A Togetherness Tribute to MLK | January 17-February 22, 2026, at the Main Gallery of the Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center in Dowell, MD. This exhibit explores unity, belonging, and shared purpose. Just as individual fibers bond through pressure, water, and movement, communities, too, are shaped by connection, resilience, and intentional acts of care. This exhibit honors Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s enduring vision of the Beloved Community, an inclusive world formed through compassion, justice, and collective responsibility.
